Knuckle Boom Crane
Having been exposed to them on the job site, I’ve realized just how handy these accessories are, and I wanted one.
GVWR: 16,000 lbs
Engine: most likely the Silver Diamond 240 OHV inline-six, 240.3 cu in (3,938 cc) and 108 hp (81 kW) (LB-140/L150/160)
Transmission: 4 speed manual
Rearend: 2 speed vacuum shift
Hydraulic system: Williams hydraulic pump model 30, serial number: 581182
Max reach: 15′ 4″
Max weight at max reach: 4500 lbs
Crane weight: 3450 lbs
Outrigger span: 10’10”
Optimal pump capacity: 9 GPM
Recommended tank size: 11 US Gal
Mine currently only has one hydraulic extension, and so with that extended, it can lift 4500 lbs, at a reach of 15′ 4″.
NOTE: positions 4 & 5 are not applicable on my crane as they don’t exist. Those numbers do become important if I were to add a manual extension to calculate the capacity.
