While figuring out the hydraulic system, I needed to do some fabrication work, so now it was time to get rid of that wussy little red blade, and replace it with a REAL blade. I did some research, and it seemed like many of the pickup truck blades were using a polyethylene plastic backed with a steel frame, as the snow slides off of that better. The other advantage is that plastic is flexible, and can be formed to a shape. I don’t have a sheet roller, so making a curved blade out of steel was going to be a bit more difficult, so this was a better solution. After doing a bit of design layout for the shape of the pieces and the angle of attack, it was time to start cutting steel.
